| I live in Clemson, SC, my name is Betty Grandy and I love making vases from stoneware. Working with clay is very rewarding. Many times I will make a vase that just has a good feel to it and good balance. Later while at the leather hard stage, I decide how I will finish the vase. I might do some carving on it or I might cut the rim and alter the vase. I often draw the South Carolina Palmetto Tree with Crescent Moon on the front for decoration. I also draw dragonflies and I enjoy making the black bear designs. The white flowers are also hand made from porcelain. Many of my ceramic creations also have the tiger paw on them since my studio is in Clemson, South Carolina.
